The Asian Pacific American Religions Research Initiative (APARRI) is a scholarly community advancing the interdisciplinary study of Asian Pacific Americans and their religions. Through conferences, mentoring, and research collaborations, APARRI promotes the professional development of a community of scholars and the innovative field of Asian Pacific American religious studies.
APARRI is the largest and longest running interdisciplinary conference series in the United States addressing issues of religion in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Since 1999, APARRI gatherings have provided opportunities for scholars and community leaders involved in work on Asian American and Pacific Islander religion to share research, exchange ideas, and build collaborative relationships. APARRI continues to promote the development of Asian Pacific American religious studies as a field, the cultivation of emerging scholarship, and the mentoring of younger scholars and leaders.
